Does UGG run small?

No. By its own size chart, UGG sizes in line with most brands in both men's and women's sizes. A 27 cm foot is a men's US 9 in UGG and in 22 of 34 other brands' charts. Charts show how a brand means its sizes to fit, not how any one shoe feels, so read UGG's own fit advice below as well.

How this is worked out: every foot length from 25 to 29 cm (men's) and 22.5 to 26 cm (women's), in 1 mm steps, is read against UGG's chart and the other 34 brands' charts the way the calculator reads them, rounding up between sizes. How to measure for UGG

Measure heel-to-toe standing, using the longer foot. UGG's classic sheepskin styles are designed to be worn without socks, so measure barefoot for those.

UGG fit guidance

UGG's sheepskin boots and slippers fit snugly at first and the inner wool compresses and moulds to the foot with wear, so they loosen over time. UGG and most retailers recommend sizing DOWN to the nearest whole size if you fall between sizes -- the opposite of the usual size-up advice. Note UGG uses a men's-to-women's offset of only 1 US size (a women's 9 is a men's 8), narrower than the 1.5-2 sizes most brands use. UGG's children's sizes carry their own band letters: T for the toddler-numbered band and K for the kid-numbered one, so an 8T and a 4K are different shoes. Note that UGG publishes two different children's charts: the product size-fit pages give UGG's own heel-to-toe measurement in inches and millimeters, while a support article gives a generic industry scale. The figures here follow UGG's own measurement. The adult guidance to size DOWN when between sizes applies to children's boots too, because the sheepskin compresses with wear, which runs opposite to the usual instinct to buy a child room to grow.
