How to measure for Brooks
Measure heel-to-toe standing, using the longer foot. Measure in the afternoon or after a run, when feet are at their largest.
Brooks fit guidance
Brooks and most running specialists recommend going about a half size up from your everyday shoe size, to leave room for the foot to swell and move forward during a run. IMPORTANT — Brooks does not manufacture children's shoes. Their own guidance is that younger runners should use adult sizing: a big kid's size runs 1:1 with Brooks men's, or add 1.5 for Brooks women's. Most Brooks men's shoes start at a 7, with some spikes and racing shoes down to a 5; women's start at a 5, equivalent to a big kid's 3.5. The range shown here is therefore narrow on purpose — it is the span Brooks can actually fit, not a children's chart. Brooks also notes adult lasts may run wider than a traditional kids' shoe.
