How to measure for Chaco
Measure heel-to-toe, using the longer foot. Chaco's chart is published in Japanese centimeter sizing, which corresponds to foot length.
Chaco fit guidance
Chaco sandals use a continuous adjustable strap threaded through the footbed, so width and instep volume are adjustable even though length is not -- if a pair feels tight across the foot, re-threading and pulling the strap through usually solves it before changing size. Note that some Chaco models are produced in whole sizes only; if your size falls on a half size, check whether the specific model offers it. Chaco's children's range starts at a 16cm foot; they do not make infant or early-toddler sizes. The adjustable strap that makes their adult sandals forgiving across the foot applies to the kids' range too, so width is adjustable even though length is not.
