Does Hoka run small?

No. By its own size chart, Hoka sizes in line with most brands in both men's and women's sizes. A 27 cm foot is a men's US 9 in Hoka and in 22 of 34 other brands' charts. Charts show how a brand means its sizes to fit, not how any one shoe feels, so read Hoka's own fit advice below as well.

Hoka width chart

Hoka publishes 2 men's and 2 women's width fittings. The standard fitting is D in men's and B in women's, so a D is the standard men's fitting but a wider women's one. Check which chart a letter belongs to before carrying it across.

How to measure for Hoka

HOKA is one of the few brands that publishes precise foot length directly (in both mm and inches) on its own official size chart; measure heel-to-toe and use the longer foot.

Hoka fit guidance

HOKA's cushioned platform shoes generally run true to size to slightly roomy in the toe box; if between sizes, HOKA recommends sizing up. Hoka only began making children's shoes in 2023. The range shown here is their Big Kids band (3.5Y to 7Y), which is the only part with published foot lengths. Hoka also sells a Little Kids band of roughly 10.5K to 3. Those sizes exist, but no source publishes foot lengths for them, so they are not shown rather than estimated. Hoka states its kids' shoes are designed around children's foot shape rather than being scaled-down adult models. HOKA runs a genuine width programme rather than occasional wide variants, and publishes millimeter differences between fittings: about 8mm from regular to wide in men's. Men's regular is D and wide is 2E; women's regular is B and wide is D, so a D means standard in men's and wide in women's. Some men's models also come in a 4E extra wide, about 4mm beyond the 2E. Worth knowing that HOKA's toebox is snugger than its cushioning suggests, so a wide fitting is worth considering even if you take a regular elsewhere.
