How to measure for Clarks

Clarks recommends measuring in millimetres from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe (which is not always the big toe), and measuring both feet and using the longer one. Note that Clarks prints its own 'Clarks EU' size on the box, which differs from the standard EU size at several points -- for example a men's UK 10 is a Clarks EU 44.5 but a standard EU 45. The EU figures shown here are Clarks' own.

Clarks fit guidance

Clarks is one of the few mainstream brands offering real width fittings across much of its range, so if the length is right but the shoe feels tight or loose across the foot, changing fitting is the answer rather than changing size. Clarks' own standard fitting is G for men and D for women. Men's runs G (standard), H (wide) and XW (extra wide); women's runs C (narrow), D (standard), E (wide) and EE (extra wide). Note these are Clarks' product fittings — on the generic UK letter scale a G reads as 'wide', which is why a Clarks G is not the same claim as a G elsewhere. Clarks' men's and women's charts also share the same UK-size-to-foot-length scale; they simply cover different parts of it. Clarks children's shoes are stamped with their UK size, which is the column to match against a pair you already own. Children's widths use a different letter scale from the adult range — F is the children's standard fitting, with E narrow, G wide and H extra wide — so a kids' G is not the same claim as the men's G.
