Does Mizuno run small?

For women's sizes, yes. By its own size chart, Mizuno is in line with most brands in men's sizes and runs about half a size small in women's sizes. A 24 cm foot is a women's US 7 in 16 of 34 other brands' charts, and a US 7.5 in Mizuno. Charts show how a brand means its sizes to fit, not how any one shoe feels, so read Mizuno's own fit advice below as well.

How this is worked out: every foot length from 25 to 29 cm (men's) and 22.5 to 26 cm (women's), in 1 mm steps, is read against Mizuno's chart and the other 34 brands' charts the way the calculator reads them, rounding up between sizes. How to measure for Mizuno

Measure heel-to-toe standing, using the longer foot. Mizuno sizes on the Japanese/Mondopoint convention, where each whole size step equals exactly 1cm of foot length -- so the centimeter figure here is your actual measured foot length, not a shoe-box length.

Mizuno fit guidance

Mizuno's US and UK sizes run true to size for most wearers. As with any running shoe, allow room at the toe for the foot to move forward and swell during a run -- Mizuno's own fitting guidance suggests roughly 1 to 1.5cm of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe, which the size step already accounts for. Mizuno publishes one continuous size chart rather than separate adult and children's tables. The children's band simply carries a C prefix (C10 to C13.5) before the numbering restarts at 1. Because Mizuno sizes on the Japanese convention, the centimeter figure is the child's actual foot length. Mizuno does not publish a UK column for this range.
